JFL Monday Scores
As reported yesterday here on JNFN, there were three JFL matches played on what was a holiday Monday - and all of them were in their own way quite remarkable affairs. The title race continues to be extremely close-fought, with Sagawa Kyubin SC knocking Rosso Kumamoto off top spot following a 5-0 away thrashing of JEF Reserves that included two goals for striker Sho Gokyu and a hat-trick for star midfielder Shogo Shimada.

The championship challenge of FC Gifu, on the other hand, seems to be fading rapidly and their 2-1 defeat at Ryutsu Keizai University leaves them well off the pace. But perhaps the most astonishing result of the day was down in Okinawa, where apparently out-of-form visitors TDK SC emphasised exactly what a terrible season FC Ryukyu are having by running in no fewer than eight goals without reply. Masatoshi Matsuda was the northerners' own hat-trick hero as they brought to an end their own poor run of results in emphatic style.
