Kyushu League
The typhoon conditions that have been affecting much of Japan throughout the weekend brought about the postponement of Saturday's relegation clash between Kumamoto Teachers and Nanakuma Tombies, together with the Okinawa Kariyushi against Nippon Steel Oita match. But the Kyushu League's top three teams were all in action - and they all managed to pick up maximum points, thus ensuring that the tension mounts yet further as the season nears its climax.

Still holding on to top spot are New Wave Kitakyushu, 1-0 winners against an in-form Volca Kagoshima who had won their six previous games. V Varen Nagasaki remain third a couple of points off the lead after they beat Volca's neighbours from National Institute of Fitness & Sports, Osumi NIFS United. Narrow favourites for the title, however, are probably Honda Lock - a 4-2 defeat of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki keeps the former JFL side in the fight, with a crucial game in hand.
