JFL Sunday Scores
Rosso Kumamoto's reign at the top of the JFL lasted a mere 48 hours, as Sagawa Kyubin SC re-took the lead on Sunday thanks to a 1-0 win at TDK SC. Midfielder Gen Nakamura scored the decisive goal early in the second half to clinch the victory for Sagawa - but after a promising start to the year, things seem to be going rapidly downhill for TDK, who now have taken just three points from their last six matches. Tochigi SC also began the season well, but the recent appointment as coach of former Japanese international Koichi Hashiratani hasn't stopped their slide down the rankings. A disastrous defeat at lowly FC Ryukyu means that the J-League hopefuls have now failed to win any of their last nine games and their dreams of promotion are now surely over for another season.

Another team to have got rid of a coach recently are FC Kariya, but like Tochigi the change has not had any immediate impact upon their fortunes. They conceded an eight-minute goal for Alo's Hokuriku by ex-Ehime FC striker Yuuya Nagatomi to remain in the bottom four. The evening fixture was a clash between two in-form teams, but it was no surprise to see YKK AP claim the win over Mitsubishi Mizushima; star defender Yuji Hamano netted the winners just after the hour mark in what was the fourth 1-0 game of the day. YKK close the gap between themselves and FC Gifu to just two points, while Mizushima remain comfortable in mid-table.
