In a thrilling last-game of the season finish to the 2006 Shikoku League campaign, Kagawa prefecture's Kamatamare Sanuki held on to the lead that they have held all season at the expense of their southern rivals - and 2005 title winners - Nangoku Kochi. A 3-3 draw between the two teams in Kochi on Sunday afternoon gives Kamatamare the championship with a two-point advantage over Nangoku and keeps the re-launched side on course for the Regional League Championship Winners' Play-off tournament and a shot at a JFL place.
