It was a dramatic opening indeed to the Honda - YKK clash, as the home side took the lead with a sixth minute goal from hot property striker Junya Nitta, only for Mitsuru Hasegawa to level things up and, as it turned out, to conclude the scoring just eight minutes later. Rosso required a last-minute effort from Tamon Machida to rescue a 2-2 draw at SC Tottori, which means that the JFL hopefuls have just four points from their last four matches: clearly some way from being promotion form.
Alo's Hokuriku's Yoshio Kobayashi also netted in the closing seconds of his team's match as they recorded a 3-1 victory over Tochigi SC to go seventh, while Sony Sendai's defeat of lowly FC Ryukyu keeps them comfortably in mid-table. The undoubted score of the day, however, came in Gunma prefecture where Arte Takasaki continued their disastrous run of results with a 4-0 crushing by relegation-threatened Mitsubishi Mizushima. Okayama's Mitsubishi were three ahead at half-time thanks to goals from Kentaro Takamatsu, Kosuke Kan and Masato Kawaguchi and the result will provide them with a massive boost as they seek to fight their way out of the bottom two. Given that they now lie just a point shy of Ryukyu, anything could happen in the final six weeks of the season.
