All-Japan Shakaijin - Second Round
The Second Round of this year's All-Japan Shakaijin tournament in Akita prefecture turned up some shocks on Sunday, with hosts TDK Akita going out on penalties to mid-ranking Kyushu League side Okinawa Kariyushi. FC Mi-o Biwako Kusatsu from the Kansai League may be looking forward to the Regional league Championship Winners' Play-off at the end of next month as they seek to win a place in the JFL, but their participation in the dress rehearsal has been brought to an abrupt end by surprise Kanto League champions YSCC, while the two sides battling out the Shikoku League crown - Nangoku Kochi and Kamatamare Sanuki - have also both been eliminated.

Favourites FC Gifu march on, however, after having dished out a 6-1 thrashing to All-Kamisu SC, while the two other Kyushu sides alongside Kariyushi have also made it through to the last eight. V Varen Nagaski needed penalties to overcome Fervorosa from Hokushinetsu, but New Wave Kitakyushu crushed Shizuoka teachers' side Fuyo Club.
