Attention in the JFL was firmly focused at the bottom of the table on Sunday, with arguably three matches that could be described as "six-pointers" having been staged on the same day. But there was no doubt as to the most crucial of the three, though - bottom two Mitsubishi Mizushima and Honda Lock faced each other, the loser knowing that they faced a major battle to finish outside the relegation play-off places. Lock twice took the lead but on both occasions were pulled back to all-square and just when it seemed as if the game was petering out for a draw, an injury-time goal and then a further strike from midfielder Shinpei Watanabe gave the win and three crucial points to Mitsubishi.
Under normal circumstances, this would have been enough to move the Okayama prefecture-based side up the table, but Ryutsu Keizai University remain a point ahead as they too came from behind to win at JEF Club; FC Ryukyu's 1-0 defeat of FC Kariya means that there are a bunch of four teams within a point of each other just above the two play-off places. Truly, every point counts for all of these teams - and Sagawa Printing - between now and the end of the season.
Further up the table, both Sagawa Kyubin Tokyo and YKK AP moved above Sagawa Kyubin Osaka on goal difference into third and fourth places respectively, thanks to home wins over mid-table sides. Leading scorer Tetsuya Okubo was again on target, as Sagawa Tokyo beat Arte Takasaki 3-1 after conceding a second-minute opener, while SC Tottori fell 2-1 to YKK.
