In failing to win one of their two games in hand on Saturday, Tokai League Division 1 title holders Shizuoka FC have surely more or less handed their crown to FC Gifu. Following their home draw with Maruyasu Industry, Shizuoka have four fixtures remaining and an eight-point gap to make up, meaning that unbeaten Gifu can take a giant step towards winning the league when they themselves play Maruyasu next weekend.
