It was a day to forget for the two teams occupying the promotion places in the Kanto League Division 2 on Sunday, as FC Machida Zelvia fell to a shock defeat at Nirasaki Astros and form team Furukawa Electrics Chiba's run of five consecutive wins came to an end in no uncertain terms when they were crushed 5-2 by Hitachi Tochigi Uva. It's Hitachi who have gained most from all this, as they now stand just a point behind Furukawa with three games to go; a crunch match next week. however, will see Machida take on Furukawa. In the relegation zone, All Kamisu SC and Aries FC both look in real danger after defeats by Kanagawa Teachers and Ome FC respectively.
