Shikoku League - Round 10
A seven-goal performance from Nangoku Kochi striker Yohei Ueda against Alex SC could still help his club to retain their Shikoku League title, despite current leaders Kamatamare Sanuki themselves beating Sanwa Club 6-0. This places Nangoku five points behind Kamatamare, but the 2005 champions have a game in hand, a marginally superior goal difference - and a home match against their new rivals from Kagawa prefecture still to come in September. Ehime Shimanami can probably now be discounted from the race, even though they are level on points with Nangoku and beat Tokushima Vortis Amateur on Sunday: their goal difference is much worse and they do not have the advantage of a game in hand. The fourth fixture on Sunday saw Sanyo Electric Tokushima continue their inconsistent season with a 3-0 win over Ventana AC to stay mid-table.
