With the Kansai League Division 1 reaching the halfway stage of the 2006 season over the weekend, the 100% record of champions Banditonce Kobe finally came to an end when they had to come from behind to claim a 1-1 draw with local rivals Kobe FC 1970. It's Kobe FC who remain banditonce's nearest challengers, some six points off the pace, but Sanyo Electric Sumoto move up into third following their 7-2 thrashing of Takada FC, while FC Mi-o Biwako Kusatsu went down to Ain Food and dropped two places in the table as result. Kyoto Shiko Club gained a vital win at AS Laranja Kyoto in the other match, to close the gap as they seek to avoid relegation back to Division 2.
