The winners of the two regionalised sections of the Tohoku League Division 2 held a play-off on Sunday 30 October to decide which of them would achieve automatic promotion to Division 1 for 2006. Sendai Nakata Club from the south overcame Tono Club 3-0 and will therefore be promoted, while Tono now have one more opportunity to do the same in a second play-off against the Division 1 bottom side Morioka Zebra.
