There wasn't much doubt as to the JFL game of the day on Sunday, as FC Gifu and YKK AP served up a thriller to match their status as sides aiming for top four finishes come the end of this season. Gifu were two up with barely a quarter of the game gone, but a purple patch mid-way through the second period that included a brace from star forward Mitsuru Hasegawa put YKK ahead - only for ex-Tokushima Vortis striker Jorginho to tie things up five minutes from time.
But a draw wasn't really good enough for Gifu, who slip back to seventh position as a result. They are behind YKK's neighbours Alo's Hokuriku, who grabbed a late winner at Mitsubishi Mizushima; Honda FC, comfortable winners over out-of-form Yokogawa Musashino; and JEF Reserves, for whom Shogo Kawano was on target twice in the first eleven minutes at FC Kariya.
Elsewhere, TDK SC continue to do enough to stay away from the foot of the division in their first season in the new JFL and gained another point with a draw at home to Tochigi SC. Making it three wins in a row and now unbeaten since July are Ryutsu Keizai University, who beat Sony Sendai, while FC Ryukyu's year just never seems to get any easier. The second bottom team in the league were defeated 2-1 at home by Gainare Tottori.
