Kyushu League
It was all change at the top of the Kyushu League on Sunday, with all three championship contenders moving places. Former leaders New Wave Kitakyushu were without a fixture and dropped down to third, their place at the top taken by Honda Lock, who beat Osumi NIFS United 5-0. Perhaps in the trickiest position of all are V Varen Nagasaki, in second after a 4-1 defeat of Okinawa Kariyushi - but 2006 title winners V Varen have only four games left to play, whereas Lock and New Wave have five.

Staying fourth after a comfortable win over Volca Kagoshima are Nippon Steel Oita, but Nanakuma Tombies remain rooted to the foot of the division after they lost 3-1 at home to the Okinawans of Kaiho Bank SC. The Tombies' chief rivals for the wooden spoon are still Kumamoto Teachers, whose 1-0 defeat at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki was their ninth loss in a row.

Kanto League Division 2
Club Dragons are MSDF Atsugi Marcus are now assured of promotion from Division 2 of the Kanto League following Sunday's games. The Dragons, who were playing Ibaraki Prefectural League football just a year ago, beat Kanagawa Teachers 5-0 to remain on top of the table, while the sailors from Atsugi overcame relegation-threatened Yamanashi outfit Nirasaki Astros. This means that there is an eight-point gap between MSDF in second and third-placed Furukawa Electrics Chiba, 3-1 winners over Hanno Bruder. Ome FC really could have done with a win in their battle to avoid the drop, but only managed to draw 2-2 at Yonoshukonkai.

Kanto League Division 1
Kanto League Division 1 champions FC Machida Zelvia continued to saunter through the season with a 2-0 victory over Toho Titanium that enabled the Tokyo team to move thirteen points clear of Hitachi Tochigi Uva. But Uva slumped to a 4-3 home defeat to Toshiba Fuchu, who are participating in a relegation battle that is hotting up nicely with just two fixtures remaining. Bottom side Yaita SC also pulled off a 4-3 win over Luminozo Sayama to keep themselves in with a chance of staying up, while a 3-1 defeat of Saitama SC by YSCC meant that all three teams at the foot of the table won their games.

JFL Sunday Scores
After Rosso Kumamoto's defeat on Saturday, Sagawa Kyubin SC pounced on the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the JFL to seven points on Sunday. They cruised to a 4-1 win over bottom side Arte Takasaki, forward Kento Hori netting twice for the Shiga prefecture-based team, who are now unbeaten in their last seven matches. Moving back into the top four - and on target for a promotion spot - are FC Gifu, thanks to a goalless draw at improving Sagawa Printing.

But it's getting congested below the front three teams and one of Gifu's challengers are JEF Reserves. They recovered from two recent heavy defeats by beating TDK SC, despite going behind in the opening minute to a Go Togashi effort. And down in Okinawa, FC Ryukyu's defensive tribulations continued as they conceded three to Ryutsu Keizai University but managed a draw that moves them level with FC Kariya in the table.
