The Tohoku League Division 2 (South) 2006 season came to a conclusion on Sunday with the last round of fixtures, which pitched together the top two teams, Furukawa Battery and Marysol Matsushima. But Furukawa had already made sure of the title and single promotion play-off place, leaving the result - a 1-1 draw - to be academic in terms of the end-of-season placings. Northern Peaks Koriyama finished the campaign strongly to end up a convincing third with a 4-1 win at Kanai Club, while Shichigahama SC leapfrogged FC Perada Fukushima to move out of the bottom two.
