Rosso Kumamoto's application for associate membership of the J-League has been approved, giving the ambitious Kyushu-based outfit the green light to join the professional ranks should performances on the pitch be good enough. The same J-League meeting also considered but rejected Tochigi SC's application because the club's level of financial planning was felt to be insufficient. Tochigi's situation will be re-considered in November.
